Disney: 'Black Panther' loses box office crown
(CercleFinance.com) - It had to happen at one point: last weekend Disney's "Black Panther" lost its place in pole position of the worldwide box office to Warner Bros' "Tomb Raider".
The adventure movie, which is inspired by a video game, took over the top spot at the global box office in its debut with 126 million dollars of total takings over the weekend, according to comscore numbers released on Monday.
Black Panther slipped to the number 2 stot with 57 million dollars, although the Marvel production has now become the 14th highest grossing title worldwide of all-time with total takings of 1.18 billion dollars.
