18 billion, or 1.64 dollar per share, against 1.26 billion dollars, or 1.69 dollar per share a year earlier.
On an adjusted basis, the US airlines' EPS reached 1.57, four cents above the consensus.
Meanwhile, revenues came in at 11.1 billion dollars, up 5.5% year-on-year. The consensus was also less confident, expecting 11 billion dollars.
