Colgate-Palmolive: launches new share buyback
(CercleFinance.com) - Colgate-Palmolive said on Tuesday that it will launch a new share repurchase plan of up to 5 billion dollars, replacing a previous five billion dollars buyback authorization from 2015.
The consumer goods group also annonced a quarterly cash dividend of 0.42 dollar per share, payable on 15 August, to shareholders of record on 18 July.
Colgate said the dividend and the new share repurchase program reflect a continuation of the its "long history of consistently returning cash to shareholders."
The company has paid uninterrupted dividends on its common stock since 1895.
