Citigroup: EPS above Credit Suisse's estimates.

(CercleFinance.com) - Citigroup on Friday reported EPS that are "very much higher" than Credit Suisse's expectations, with the Swiss bank confirming its "outperform" recommendation and target price of 83 dollars on the US bank.

Citigroup posted Q3 EPS of 1.42 dollar per share, while Credit Suisse was expecting 1.25 dollar.

The share's fall is therefore a priori due to credit card forecasts (lower net interest margin and higher short-term losses), Credit Suisse says.

Credit Suisse has raised its FY 2017 EPS forecast from 5.15 dollars to 5.30 dollars per share and has confirmed its forecasts for 2018 and 2019, at 5.85 dollars and 6.50 dollars respectively.
