Caterpillar: retail machinery sales remain strong
(CercleFinance.com) - Caterpillar said on Monday that its global retail machinery sales rose by 24% for the three months to 30 July, as demand for oil and gas machinery remained strong.
According to Caterpillar, machinery sales in Asia/Pacific saw the largest rise, up 30% from a year ago.
Sales in the North America region jumped 27% for the rolling three-month period ending in July, helped by a 24% growth in the oil and gas industry.
Caterpillar, the world's largest heavy equipment manufacturer, reported better-than-expected second-quarter results last month and further raised its full-year financial targets.
Looking in great shape, the Peoria, Illinois-based company also authorised a new share buyback program of up to 10 billion dollars.
