Campbell: sells soup plant to private investment firm
(CercleFinance.com) - Campbell has sold a Pacific Northwest-based refrigerated soup plant to a Seattle-based private investment firm, the company said on Thursday.
The US soup maker said that it has signed a definitive agreement for the sale of its 225,000 square-foot Everett, Washington, facility to a unit of Joshua Green Corporation (JGC), for an undisclosed amount.
This move comes as part of Campbell's strategy to divest some of its fresh and international businesses to increase the company's focus, and reduce its debt.
The deal is expected to close in the third quarter.
