Boeing: Luxair strengthens fleet with four 737 aircraft
(CercleFinance.com) - Boeing announced on Friday that Luxembourg-based airline Luxair plans to expand its fleet with four 737-8 single-aisle aircraft.
Under the terms of the agreement, Luxair will initially lease two 737-8s in order to rapidly increase its capacity for the key summer season.
The carrier has also placed a direct order for two additional aircraft.
The 737-8s are intended to provide greater flexibility in network operations, while reducing fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by 20% compared to existing aircraft.
The four 737-8s - which will seat between 162 and 210 passengers and fly up to 3,500 nautical miles (6,500 km).
