(CercleFinance.com) - Boeing and China Airlines have announced the signing of an order for 24 787 Dreamliners.
The carrier is investing in the fuel-efficient widebody aircraft to expand its passenger and cargo operations.
The deal includes a firm order for 16 longer-range 787-9s, with options for eight additional jets, a landmark purchase that will help the airline meet its long-term sustainability goals.
China Airlines said that the addition of the state-of-the-art 787 will help it reduce carbon emissions, while providing our customers with unmatched levels of comfort.
The 787-9 will enable China Airlines to operate with the lowest travel cost among medium-sized wide-body aircraft, while reducing fuel consumption and emissions by up to 25% compared to the aircraft it replaces.
