Boeing: raises revenue forecast as quarterly profit jumps

(CercleFinance.com) - Boeing reported a 26 percent jump in quarterly profit and raised its full-year revenue forecast on defence volume and services growth.


Second-quarter net income rose to 2.20 billion dollars, or 3.73 dollars a share, from 1.75 billion dollars, or 2.87 dollar per share, a year ago as revenue increased 5 percent to 24.25 billion dollars.

Core earnings, which exclude pension and postretirement costs, jumped to 3.33 dollars from 2.49 dollars.

The company announced 194 plane deliveries for the quarter, compared to 183 in the second quarter of 2017.

Also, Boeing's commercial aircraft operating margin jumped to 11.4 percent in the past quarter, from 9 percent a year ago.

Boeing raised its full-year revenue forecast to between 97 and 99 billion dollars from a previous outlook of 96 to 98 billion dollars.
