Boeing: deal with Japan's MHI on cost reduction for 787.
(CercleFinance.com) - Boeing said on Monday that it has reached a deal with Japan's Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) in an effort to reduce the costs of wings for the 787 Dreamliner.
The deal aims to increase efficiency in MHI's production system and its supply chain through lean production methods, automation and other activities, the US planemaker said.
MHI manufactures 787 composite wings at its factory in Nagoya, Japan.
