Boeing: buys autonomous aircraft specialist Aurora.
(CercleFinance.com) - Boeing plans to acquire Aurora Flight Sciences, a US company specializing in autonomy technology for innovative aerospace vehicles, the planemaker said on Thursday.
The aerospace giant said it has, over the past decade, collaborated with Aurora on the prototyping of innovative aircraft and structural assemblies for both military and commercial applications.
Headquartered in Virginia, and with over 550 employees Aurora has designed and flown more than 30 unmanned air vehicles since the company was founded in 1989.
The terms of the agreement have not been disclosed.
