Blackstone: signs partnership with HSM

As part of the deal, Blackstone will invest approximately 1 billion dollars to acquire music rights and manage catalogues.
Hipgnosis Song Management is one of the industry's leading advisors on music assets. The company is the investment adviser to Hipgnosis Songs Fund, the UK's largest investor in music catalogues and royalties with gross assets of approximately 2.2 billion dollars.
Blackstone will take an equity stake in HSM and support the expansion of its infrastructure and business functions, including the development of new song management skills, data science capabilities and technology solutions, management said.
