Applied Materials: EU clears JV with Franklin
(CercleFinance.com) - Under EU Merger Regulations the European Commission has cleared the creation of a joint venture by Franklin Investments of Singapore and Applied Materials of the US.
The joint venture will be active in the research and development, manufacture and marketing of specialised coatings for powders and parts, mainly for pharmaceutical and commercial aviation applications.
The Commission concluded that the proposed acquisition would not raise competition concerns, given the joint venture's limited planned activities in the European Economic Area.
