Amazon: about to acquire Zoox
(CercleFinance.com) - The Amazon group announced on Friday that it will acquire Zoox, a start-up specialised in autonomous vehicles.
Although the price of the deal was not specified by Amazon, several sources including the Wall Street Journal say that it could be above one billion dollars.
In particular, Zoox has developed an environment (hardware and software) enabling autonomous electric taxis to operate. These could be hailed directly from a smartphone.
