Amazon: contract in the 'cloud' with Canadian newspaper
(CercleFinance.com) - Amazon's cloud subsidiary, Amazon Web Services announces that it has been selected by the Canadian newspaper Globe and Mail for applications relating to artificial intelligence and machine learning.
The contract will include the Amazon Comprehend language processing service to identify information, Amazon Rekognition real-time facial recognition technology, and the text and data extraction software Amazon Textract.
Globe and Mail will also use Amazon Polly, Amazon's technology for converting news articles into audio files available in English, French and Mandarin.
Finally, the press group also plans to use the Sophi predictive platform to determine how its readers react to its content.
