Amazon: solar rooftop installation in Nevada

com has announced the installation of a 1.1 megawatt photovoltaic rooftop installation at its North Las Vegas fulfillment center, bringing it closer to its aim of installing at least 50 such systems globally by 2020.
The US online retail giant says that this is its second project of this kind in the State of Nevada and its 17th solar rooftop installation over the past 14 months in the US.
The North Las Vegas facility consists of 3,145 individual solar modules and covers the equivalent of 3.5 football pitches. The emissions avoided through this installation alone are equivalent to 3.3 million miles driven by an average petrol-driven passenger car.
