Amazon: bond issue to buy out Whole Foods.

(CercleFinance.com) - Amazon has announced the launch of an unsecured senior bond issue through a private placement, which is intended to partly finance the acquisition of Whole Foods Market, along with the group's general needs.

For the record, last June the e-commerce giant announced the purchase of the natural and organic food product chain at a price of 42 dollars per share, for approximately 13.7 billion dollars.

At the time, Amazon stated that the group will continue to operate its stores under the Whole Foods Market brand name worldwide and that the transaction is expected to be closed in the second half of 2017.
