Altria: in talks for possible investment in cannabis firm
(CercleFinance.com) - Canadian cannabis company Cronos confirmed on Tuesday that it is in talks with Altria about a potential investment by the US tobacco giant.
In a statement, the Toronto-based firm said no agreement has been reached and that there can be no guarantee that an agreement will result from the discussions.
This did not, however, prevent Cronos shares from jumping by 8% on the Nasdaq this morning. Shares in Altria, on the other hand, are up a modest 0.7%.
