Alphabet: Google buys machine learning company Onward
(CercleFinance.com) - Alphabet Inc's Google has bought Onward, a platform that offers machine learning and natural language processing technologies.
In a blogpost on Wednesday, Onward founders said that they were "thrilled" and "excited" to join the online giant.
"With Google, we'll be able to expand the reach of the technologies that power Onward," they said.
They did not disclose the financial terms of the deal.
The start-up, which was created in a Brooklyn apartment in 2015, and has now relocated to San Francisco - develops "bots" that can answer clients' questions even if sales teams aren't around.
