AMD: positive thesis unchanged, Wells Fargo Securities says
(CercleFinance.com) - Wells Fargo Securities maintains its "outperform" rating on Advanced Micro Devices after the chipmaker reported in-line quarterly results yesterday.
While the broker had expected to see AMD report third-quarter upside, it pointed out that AMD's ability/confidence in providing an in-line fourth-quarter guide should support the shares.
Wells Fargo - which notes a weaker server business - also pointed out that AMD noted that it has not seen any 7nm supply constraints and provided positive commentary on the ramp up of its second-generation EPYC server processors called "Rome".
