SAS: sanctioned for failing to disclose information

(CercleFinance.com) - SAS announced on Friday that the stock exchange operator Nasdaq Stockholm had fined it for failing to publish privileged information as soon as possible.

The Scandinavian airline said Nasdaq Stockholm had fined it three times its annual listing fee for delaying disclosure of information about its pilots' latest strike notice.

The operator accused the carrier of leaking information to the press during the mediation meeting that preceded the announcement of the pilots' strike on 4 July.

SAS said it was "regrettable" that the failure of these negotiations had been reported in the media before it officially published a statement and said it had taken steps to strengthen the procedures surrounding the communication of privileged information.

The pilots' strike resulted in its share price plummeting by a third in the space of four sessions in early July.
