SAS: passenger numbers down over 75% in July
(CercleFinance.com) - The Scandinavian airline SAS said onFriday that it carried 705,000 passengers last month, a figure down over three quarters the level in July 2019.
At the same time, it has reduced its capacity by 76%, although this did not prevent the load factor - which measures how well airlines fill their planes - from falling by 33.6 points to 51%.
In a statement, however, the airline said that it has continued to see a "slow recovery" in demand, with the number of passengers carried in July rising by around 300% relative to June.
The carrier's share price was down almost 3% at lunchtime on Friday in Stockholm.
