Alfa Laval: names new president for marine division
(CercleFinance.com) - Swedish engineering firm Alfa Laval has appointed Sameer Kalra as the new president of its marine division, replacing Peter Leifland, who will retire at the start of 2019.
Kalra is currently a business unit president for the pumping systems in the group's marine division for Norway.
Alfa said the Indian-born executive has an extensive marine experience including ten years sailing on various merchant ships.
Kalra has over twenty years in different management positions; first at Aalborg Industries, a manufacturer of marine boiler systems that Alfa Laval bought in 2010.
Alfa's marine division makes ballast water treatment solutions, desalination products, and freshwater generators for ship owners and operators.
