Telia: appoints new CEO; shares rise
(CercleFinance.com) - Swedish telecom operator Telia on Friday named TDC boss Allison Kirkby as its new chief executive, sending its shares up over 2% in Stockholm.
Telia's board has appointed Kirkby as president and CEO, pointing out that the executive has extensive experience from various positions within the telecommunications industry.
Most recently, she was CEO of Danish telecoms operator TDC.
Kirkby will take office in the second quarter of 2020, meaning that Christian Luiga will return to his role as CFO.
For the record, Kirkby was appointed TDC's CEO in December 2018.
