Ericsson: develops 5G network in India
(CercleFinance.com) - Ericsson yesterday announced the introduction of ultra-lightweight 32T32R Massive MIMO radios to be produced in India.
The energy-efficient radios are equipped with coverage enhancement features that make them relevant for a country like India.
Thanks to their low weight, these Ericsson radios facilitate installations on towers, roofs, poles and walls.
This news comes at the same time as the report on the "promise of 5G" in India, conducted by Ericsson ConsumerLab. The study reveals that more than 100 million users with suitable smartphones want to upgrade to a 5G subscription by 2023.
Of those who plan to upgrade to 5G, 36% plan to switch to the best 5G network provider when it becomes available. These users are even willing to pay a 45% premium for a package with new experiences.
