Ericsson: launches new portfolio for broadband networks
(CercleFinance.com) - In the middle of the Huawei storm, Ericsson said on Thursday that it would launch a new broadband portfolio for service providers and government operators for segments with LTE/5G networks.
The portfolio will enable service providers to meet the needs of industries and public safety agencies as digitalization and modernization of land mobile radio communications increase, the Swedish group said.
"When communication is disrupted by minutes, seconds, or even milliseconds, it can have huge consequences for business operations, or serious implications for public safety. The need for fast and reliable communication is therefore paramount," Ericsson said.
According to analysts, if China's Huawei ends up being banned from Western markets, this would probably be beneficial for Ericsson and Nokia.
