Ericsson: kicks off MWC 2018 with clear focus on 5G
(CercleFinance.com) - Swedish telecom gear maker Ericsson opened the Mobile World Congress 2018 in Barcelona with a focus on 5G.
As 5G is moving into the commercial phase, to date Ericsson has signed 38 memorandums of understanding with service providers for trials, with several commercial contracts set to be delivered by the end of the year.
Ericsson also said it would work with Australia's Telstra to continue developing the operator's mobile network and transformation plan.
Lastly, T-Mobile US will deploy Ericsson's big data analytics to improve voice over LTE (VoLTE) customer experience, the company said.
