Ericsson: opens a design center in Austin.
(CercleFinance.com) - Ericsson is opening a design center in Austin, Texas, to focus on microelectronics and accelerate the path to 5G commercialization, the Swedish telecom group said on Thursday.
The center is open now and recruitments are ongoing, with it aiming to employ 80 designers by mid-2018.
Ericsson says Austin is one of the fastest-growing cities in the US, with a "bustling tech and start up scene."
The company also said this Thursday that it has signed a four-year contract to help Etisalat Misr to capitalize on the growth in 4G and pave the way for 5G and Internet of Things in Egypt.
