Electrolux: to sell North American vacuum cleaner business
(CercleFinance.com) - Electrolux has divested its US-based vacuum cleaner business, including the brands Sanitaire and BEAM, to improve its competitiveness in the region.
The Sanitaire brand has been sold to to family-owned Bissell, while the central vacuum cleaner business and the BEAM brand will be sold to Canada's Nuera Air.
The divested operations had combined revenues of around 70 million dollars in 2017, although the transactions are not expected to result in any material changes to earnings, the Swedish group said.
In 2016 Electrolux already divested its main North American vacuum cleaner brand Eureka.
