Equinor: employers, union reach agreement, avoiding strike
(CercleFinance.com) - The Norwegian employer organisation Norsk olje og gass and Safe labour union have reached a framework agreement on Tuesday, avoiding a strike that could have affected Equinor's production.
After many hours of discussions, the Norwegian oil and gas association and the trade union have managed to find a settlement on wages early this morning, meaning there will be no strike at the Mongstad terminal.
The Safe union had threatened a strike at the at the terminal in case the talks failed, a move that would have reduced storage capacity at the refinery, thereby affecting production at several Equinor operated fields on the Norwegian continental shelf, including the giant Johan Sverdrup oil field.
