Equinor: takes 50% of Polish offshore wind project
(CercleFinance.com) - Equinor has completed the acquisition of a 50% stake in the offshore wind development project Baltyk I in Poland from Polish power producer Polenergia.
The license will enable it to develop a wind farm with a capacity of up to 1560MW, of which Equinor will hold 50%, the Norwegian energy firm said in a statement.
Equinor will manage the construction preparation and the potential construction and operational phases.
Equinor also holds 50% in the offshore wind development projects Baltyk II and Baltyk III, which have a combined planned capacity of 1,440 MW, i.e. enough to power over two million Polish households.
