Statoil: UK offshore wind farm now operational.
(CercleFinance.com) - Statoil and its partners today opened an offshore wind farm in the west of England, providing renewable energy to around 410,000 homes.
All 67 turbines at the 402MW Dudgeon offshore wind farm - located 40 kilometres off the coast of Norfolk in England - are now delivering electricity to the UK grid, the Norwegian oil firm said.
Statoil says it plans to significantly expand its presence in profitable renewable energy, aiming to invest around 100 billion Norwegian kronor (around 10 billion euros) by 2030.
