Telenor: buys Finnish telecom operator DNA
(CercleFinance.com) - Norwegian telecoms firm Telenor has agreed to acquire 54% of Finnish telecom operator DNA for 1.
5 billion euros, the company said on Tuesday.
The deal will strengthen Telenor's position in Finland, the fastest growing mobile market in Europe, where DNA is the third largest mobile operator in the country.
Telenor's strategy now consists of focusing on core markets in the Nordics and Asia regions.
The completion of this transaction will trigger a mandatory public tender offer by Telenor for the remaining outstanding shares in DNA, the group said.
