Telenor: plans artificial intelligence powerhouse
(CercleFinance.com) - Telenor is joining forces with Norway's largest companies to establish a national powerhouse for artificial intelligence, the telecoms operator said on Tuesday.
The Norwegian Open AI Lab - an expansion of the Telenor-NTNU AI-Lab in Trondheim - will develop solutions specific to the partners' industries, the group said.
The project builds on the common initiative in the areas of artificial intelligence/machine learning and big data that Telenor announced in 2016, alongside with Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and Nordic independent research organisation SINTEF, Telenor said.
