Stellantis: soon to open plant in South Africa
(CercleFinance.com) - Stellantis has announced that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) and the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition (DTIC) of South Africa to develop a production facility in the country.
The production facility is expected to be built in a South African special economic zone (SEZ) and should be completed by the end of 2025, the company said.
The company says that this production facility in South Africa will be another element in its industrialisation strategy to sell one million vehicles in the region by 2030 with 70% regional production autonomy, and bringing it closer to its customers - and their needs - in the region.
