ING: promotes country manager in Turkey to group level job
(CercleFinance.com) - ING has promoted its country manager in Turkey, giving her the responsibility for the group's operations in Benelux countries, the Dutch lender said on Friday.
The decision was made after the Turkish branch transformed into a successful digital organisation under her leadership, the group said.
Pinar Abay - aged 42 - will be appointed member of the management board banking and head of market leaders, effective 1 January 2020.
Before joining ING in 2011, Abay was a partner at McKinsey in Turkey, in charge of consultancy for the banking sector.
Her appointment has been approved by the European Central Bank, ING said.
