ING: to close most record bank branches in Belgium.
(CercleFinance.com) - ING Group could close almost 500 branches of the independent network Record Bank as part of a review of its activities in Belgium, according to Aurel BGC, which quotes the Belgian financial newspapers De Tidj and L'Echo.
The broker says that ING will take over about fifty branches (out of 536, most of which are in Flanders) that operated under the Record Bank banner, while other branches will close.
"In April, the press indicated that the restructuring of its Belgian business is expected to cost the group over 600 million euros," Aurel BGC said.
