Ahold Delhaize: spends 170 million euros on Covid-19 efforts
(CercleFinance.com) - Ahold Delhaize said that it has spent over 170 million euros to date in efforts to fight COVID-19, particularly to ensure the health and safety of its employees and customers.
The Dutch-based retailer said that it has introduced additional protective measures for its associates, totaling 44 million euros, including plexiglass shields at checkouts and new store flow patterns to maintain social distancing.
The supermarket group has also committed nearly 20 million euros to charitable donations to support local food banks, feeding first responders in hard-hit areas, along with contributions to the Red Cross.
