Ahold Delhaize: CEO Boer to retire; Muller to succeed him

(CercleFinance.com) - Ahold Delhaize said on Thursday that Frans Muller, currently the company's deputy chief executive officer, will take over from Dick Boer as chief executive as of 1 July.

Analysts at Invest Securities in Paris said that this appointment was expected, as Frans Muller, who has been in charge of integration within the new group, has "perfectly completed the tasks he was set out to do."

Muller, 57, has been Ahold Delhaize's chief integration officer since 2016.

Ahold Delhaize also said that Mats Jansson will retire from the supervisory board after the group's AGM on 11 April, with Jan Hommen then appointed chairman of the board.

Jan Hommen has already been CEO of ING Group and KPMG in the Netherlands.

The market did not react much to this news on Euronext Amsterdam, where the Ahold Delhaize is currently up 0.6% at 13.4 euros.
