ABN Amro: board chair won't stand for re-election

(CercleFinance.com) - Olga Zoutendijk, the chair of ABN Amro's supervisory board will not run for a second term of office in July, the Dutch bank announced on Tuesday.

While not providing specific details, ABN has issued a statement in response to a story published in the Financieele Dagblad this morning, saying that Zoutendijk's leadership style has been a "topic of discussion internally."

However, the financial group also states that financial results published during Zoutendijk's tenure have been "excellent," also noting other contributions, such as the reduction of government ownership and increased shareholder confidence over the period.

Over the coming months, Zoutendijk will switch from chair to member of the supervisory board, with the current vice-chairman temporarily set to take on the role of chairman.
