Altice Europe: buys French fiber wholesale operator
(CercleFinance.com) - Altice Europe said it has reached a deal to buy Covage, the 4th largest fiber wholesale operator in France, for a price of 1 billion dollars.
Its French unit SFR - alongside a consortium of investors including Allianz and AXA - has entered into an exclusivity agreement regarding the acquisition of Covage.
The European telecoms group said that the deal is part of expanding SFR's footprint in this domain.
Covage is a high-speed broadband infrastructure operator, partnering with local authorities since 2006 to deploy and operate fiber networks.
