As well as unsuccessful discussions between T-Mobile (a subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom) and Sprint (subsidiary of Softbank) regarding their potential merger, there are two other news items - which are certainly related - the signature of an agreement between Altice USA and... Sprint.
Under the terms of this multi-year contract, Altice's US division will be able to use Sprint's network to provide mobile services (data and voice) to its clients across the country.
In return, Sprint will be able to rely on Altice USA's high-speed Internet platform to accelerate the densification of its network.
