FCA: to supply hybrid minivans to Alphabet's Waymo
(CercleFinance.com) - Fiat Chrysler Automobiles will supply thousands of hybrid minivans to Alphabet's self-driving car unit Waymo, the carmaker said on Tuesday.
FCA US has signed an agreement to supply thousands of Chrysler Pacifica hybrid vehicles to support the launch of a driverless ride service.
Born in Google's labs in 2009, Waymo has tested its technology in 25 cities across the US, including Atlanta, San Francisco, Detroit, and Phoenix.
FCA already delivered 100 Pacifica Hybrid minivans to Waymo during the second half of 2016, followed by an additional 500 in 2017.
