Fiat Chrysler: to invest massively in Michigan plant
(CercleFinance.com) - FCA said on Thursday that it plans to invest over 1 billion dollars in its Michigan plant, to create thousands of new jobs and to pay bonuses to US employees thanks to the recent tax reform.
The carmaker will modernise the Warren truck assembly plant to produce the next generation Ram Heavy duty truck, relocating production from Mexico to the US as from 2020.
To support the increased volume at the facility, 2,500 new jobs will be created, in addition to the jobs announced as part of the January 2017 announcement.
The company will also make a special bonus payment of 2,000 dollars to about 60,000 FCA US employees, excluding senior management.
