FCA: no further comments about market rumours.
(CercleFinance.com) - Fiat Chrysler Automobiles said on Friday that it had no further information to make in response to market rumours about a potential acquisition by China's Great Wall, beyond its statement issued earlier this week.
"From time to time, FCA may receive inquiries about potential strategic transactions and will evaluate such inquires consistent with its duties to stakeholders," the carmaker said.
"As a matter of policy, FCA does not comment on market rumors and therefore does not intend to comment further on any inquiries," it added.
The company said it issued today's statement at the request of the Italian stock exchange regulator Consob.
On Monday FCA said that it has not been contacted by China's Great Wall Motors about any potential merger following press reports that talks were underway about a partial or complete buy-out of the group.
