FCA: joins BMW-Intel consortium to develop self-driving cars
(CercleFinance.com) - Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has joined an international consortium of tier-one companies to develop an autonomous driving platform.
FCA has signed a memorandum of understanding with BMW Group, Intel and Mobileye to join them in developing a state-of-the-art autonomous driving platform.
In July 2016, BMW Group, Intel, and Mobileye announced that they were joining forces to collaborate on solutions for highly automated driving (Level 3) and fully automated driving (Level 4/5).
The partners aim to start production by 2021.
