ASML: Oddo confirms its preference

(CercleFinance.com) - October 2019's global semiconductor sales were released last night by the World Semiconductor Trade Statistics (WSTS).

In smoothed data (MM3 - 3-month moving average), they reached 36.6 billion dollars, above Oddo's forecast of 35 billion dollars.

This represents an improvement from September, as the decline in annual data improved from -14.6% in September to -13.1% in October. Sequentially, sales rose 2.9%, the broker notes.

Oddo confirms its preference for ASML, a history of structural dominance (with 90% market share in lithography; 100% in EUV).

STM has proven its ability to protect its margins and has its own growth levers (Apple, Tesla and others), it adds.
