PostNL: shares rise after higher quarterly revenue.

(CercleFinance.com) - PostNL posted higher quarterly revenue and profit on Monday, thanks to a strong performance in parcels, prompting the shares to rise over 4% on Euronext Amsterdam.

Not only the Dutch mail group reported an underlying cash operating income of 31 million euros, up 15% from 27 million euros in the third quarter of 2016, it also said outlook for 2017 remained unchanged.

However, the firm specified that full-year underlying cash operating income was now expected towards lower end of its guidance range of between 220 million euros and 260 million euros.

Over the past quarter, revenue rose 5% to 809 million euros, with strong volume growth of 23% in parcels because of the group's strenghth on the Benelux e-commerce logistics market.

The shares opened up this morning, adding 4.2% at 3.8 euros.
