Euronext: bid for Oslo Børs VPS confirmed
(CercleFinance.com) - In response to the decision of the Oslo VPS' Board of Directors Børs not to recommend its offer, Euronext has repeated its commitment to make this acquisition, which is supported by the majority of shareholders of the operator of the Norwegian Stock Exchange.
As a reminder, on 14 January the pan-European group launched a takeover bid on Oslo Børs VPS for 6.24 billion kronor (about 625 million euros) and obtained support from shareholders representing 50.5% of Oslo Børs VPS shares that are in issue.
However, Oslo Børs' board of directors said last week that it recommend a counter-bid that the Nasdaq was preparing to launch at 152 Norwegian kronor per share, which represents a premium of about 5% on Euronext's offer.
