Gemalto: merger with Thales expected in Q1 2019
(CercleFinance.com) - In a progress report of Thales' takeover bid on Gemalto, both groups says that their planned merger is proceeding satisfactorily, and now expect the deal to be finalised in the first quarter of 2019.
At this time, Thales and Gemalto specify that six of the 14 regulatory approvals required for their merger have already been obtained, and state that efforts to secure the remaining eight are going according to plan.
The groups are in talks with certain competition regulators regarding “remedy proposals to address their concerns with respect to the General Purpose Hardware Security Modules (GP HSM) market.”
